I recently listened to the Founders Podcast, Episode 398 - Steve Jobs In His Own Words (Make Something Wonderful). The quote above from Steve Jobs is a timely reflection on why we are launching Café Ubuntu Coffee into the US market. Café Ubuntu, our actual café in Maai Mahiu, Kenya, was our first building ever built on our Ubuntu Campus through our meaningful partnership with Whole Foods Market, Allegro Coffee and the Whole Planet Foundation that spanned some of the most transformative years in the history of Ubuntu Life from 2011 to 2014. These 4 years were filled with those moments that I’ve learned to call, “flow moments.” Moments in time or seasons when the stars seem to align, the universe is conspiring in your favor and you are simply iterating intuitively through a cosmic being and doing.

I chose to share the quote from Steve Jobs above because it fits perfectly for Café Ubuntu. Café Ubuntu was birthed through this process, “make something wonderful and put it out there…somehow in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love something is transmitted there and it is a way of expressing to the rest of our species our deep appreciation.”
Café Ubuntu the actual building, the people and vision of what this brand represents, was exactly this…a collaboration between two entities, Whole Foods Market & Ubuntu Life, as a global partnership forged through care and love, through Conscious Capitalism, has managed to stand the test of time and has now evolved beyond just a café, but has passed the purposeful baton to a third partner, Spring Valley Coffee, to bring the Café Ubuntu brand a step further in it’s journey, as a coffee that shares these meaningful values of care and love beyond the walls of our café and into the homes of our beautiful customers around the world!
