Learning Across Borders: U.S. Teachers Visit Ubuntu School

In May, Ubuntu School had the joy of welcoming three early childhood educators from the United States—Kelley, Allie, and Cate. Their visit to our Children’s Wellness Center was more than just a cultural exchange—it was a week filled with meaningful classroom moments, thoughtful collaboration, and heartwarming connections.

Spending most of their time in our Early Years class, they eagerly joined lessons, sang songs with the children, and shared practices from their own classrooms back home. It was both affirming and enlightening to discover how much common ground we share—despite differences in culture, resources, and setting.

The visiting teachers praised the spirit and dedication of our Ubuntu team, highlighting the exceptional care and support our children receive daily. At the same time, they offered fresh perspectives and practical recommendations—from introducing the “three-star coloring technique,” to using talking cards for speech development, to strategies that help children with ADHD maintain focus. Many of these ideas have already been woven into our classrooms.

Beyond the technical lessons, what stood out most was the sense of unity: that no matter where we teach, the heart of education remains the same. Together, we are nurturing children with love, creativity, and intention—laying foundations that will shape not only their learning but also their confidence and joy in life.
