What our 2027 Leadership Summit means for Ubuntu Life, and for you.
Last week, Ubuntu Life’s leadership team came together in Naivasha, Kenya, for our 2027 Leadership Summit.
We spent time looking honestly at where we are today, where we want to go next, and what it will take to get there. There is so much opportunity ahead for Ubuntu Life, but one message came through clearly: moving forward isn’t about doing more of everything.
It’s about being more intentional about what matters most.
Do Less. BE MORE.
For us, BE MORE starts with each other. It means showing up as one Ubuntu, taking greater ownership of the work we do and supporting each other across teams, countries and functions. It means creating the space to do fewer things exceptionally well, rather than trying to do everything at once. Those ideas closely reflect the leadership themes that went into the Summit: greater focus, empowered ownership, stronger systems and better alignment across Ubuntu.
But BE MORE extends far beyond our team.
It means being more for our Makers and artisan partners in Kenya. More for the communities and partners who have helped build Ubuntu Life. More for the people whose lives are touched by the Ubuntu Life Foundation.
And, importantly, more for you, our customers.
What does BE MORE mean for you?
It means being more thoughtful about what we create.
Rather than simply creating more, we want to focus on products we truly believe in: distinctive, useful pieces handcrafted in Kenya, made with care and designed to become part of your everyday life.
It means being more consistent in the experience we give you, from discovering Ubuntu Life and choosing the right product to placing your order and receiving it at your door.
It means listening more closely to what you tell us, learning from what works and what doesn’t, and using that feedback to make better decisions.
And it means continuing to make sure that growth never comes at the expense of what makes Ubuntu Life, Ubuntu Life: people, craftsmanship, connection and impact.
Ubuntu itself means “I am because we are.” That idea has always been bigger than any one person, product or purchase. It is the belief that we become more through one another.
As we look toward 2027, we’re returning to that idea with renewed focus.
We don’t need to do everything.
We want to do the right things, better.
To make products you love and use.
To create meaningful opportunities for the people who make them.
To serve our customers better.
To strengthen the community around us.
And to BE MORE, together.
I AM BECAUSE WE ARE.
