In 2019 we broke ground on the Ubuntu Life Children's Wellness Centre (CWC), a combined special needs school and pediatric medical facility that will generate unimaginable impact for the children in our region and across Kenya.

UBUNTU LIFE CHILDREN'S WELLNESS CENTRE
Impact
This project is more than just a building - it will grow our impact programs to unimaginable heights.
Our medical program will be able to expand into a state of the art clinic space, allowing us to provide critical health care to thousands more children each year and become a beacon for subspecialty medical education.
Our education and therapy program for children with special needs will flourish with twice as much space, bringing more children out of the shadows and empowering them to live healthy, dignified lives.
Layout
In addition to an expanded education wing and a new medical clinic wing, the Ubuntu Life CWC will also feature a walk up pharmacy, community health education space, and additional therapy areas.
Access to. pharmacy space will allow us to dispense medications on site, creating higher caliber ongoing care for all patients and the ability to offer potentially life-saving medications to children in our programs.
Expanded therapy areas and the ability to hire additional occupational and speech therapy staff will lead to larger developmental gains with all current patients and hundreds more special needs children receiving assistance annually.

Cost and Support
Total estimated costs for the Ubuntu Life Children's Wellness Centre is about $600k for design, construction, and build out.
Support for this project was spearheaded by our medical community with an initial gift from Dell Children's Medical Center. In addition to significant contributions from the Street 16 Foundation, we are within $200k of our fundraising goal.
