Stories of impact from the hands that beaded your LOVE Bracelet, sold exclusively at American Eagle Outfitters.
"Life was not as easy as it may sound."
Learning to bead at 13 years-old by her mother over school holidays, Nancy's only opportunity to sell her wares was at the Maasai Market in Nairobi. She'd wake up early to make the commute and reach the open market where she'd attempt to haggle and sell with tourists, along with several other hopeful entrepreneurs and artisans. She could only bead what she could afford, which wasn't much, and sales were never guaranteed.
“I do remember most of the time I would take my products to the market and come back home having sold nothing.”
Now, Nancy's determination and talent has empowered her to put food on the table and educate her three children. She no longer has a need to travel to the markets and instead can rely on a steady wage and payment for every piece she creates.
“It’s a privilege working with UBUNTU Made because my wage is guaranteed. Everyone in my family is so impressed!”
Nancy is proud to be a part of a community of women who are connected to lives and love all around the world!
“I want to see myself in a position where I can help the needy in the community."
