Stories of impact from the hands that beaded your LOVE Bracelet, sold exclusively at American Eagle Outfitters.
Jane is one of our Maasai UBUNTU Made Mums from a local village called Oldangati. As a child, beading was her mum's only source of income, and she credits the age-old tradition for her upbringing.
“It’s through beading that I got and education and therefore I really treasure beading.”
Jane married into a family where farming was the main source of living and was hopeful that one day she would go back to her love of beading. Due to drought and uncertain weather, there were times that they would plant and not get any harvest for an entire year.
“For those who have an experience in farming, you will agree with me that it’s not one of the interesting things to do in such a dry area like Ngong”.
When Jane got a job beading LOVE Bracelets, she believed that God sent UBUNTU Made to rescue her from farming! It was very easy for her to catch up even after spending a time away from bead work.
“It was such a smooth transformation since beading was a talent I got from God through my mother”.
“UBUNTU Made enables me to provide so much to my family than I can't explain. My prayer is to grow UBUNTU Made to employ more people in the community and educate our children to highest levels”.
